AWF to collaborate with US organization 'Wrestling for Peace'

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) and the US organization Wrestling for Peace have signed a memorandum, Report informs.

Officials from both sides, guests, and other delegates attended the event, held at the National Gymnastics Arena.

Wrestling for Peace Executive Director Dan Russell met with AWF Secretary General Parvin Piriyev and expressed gratitude for their cooperation.

Then, the Azerbaijani and American wrestlers exchanged gifts. Members of the US U17 team presented their peers from the Zafar wrestling club with autographed posters.

Michael Hackett, Counselor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Baku, also presented pins with the flags of both countries to members of the US and Azerbaijan U17 youth teams and the Zafar club.

Finally, a memorandum was signed between Wrestling for Peace and the AWF.

The U17 World Wrestling Championship will be held in Baku from July 27 to August 2.
