Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan discuss attracting new private operators to CASCA+ corridor

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have discussed ways to attract new private operators to the CASCA+ transport corridor, Uztemiryulcontainer said in a statement, as quoted by Report.

During the visit of the Uztemiryulcontainer delegation to Baku from September 9 to 12, bilateral meetings were held with Azerbaijani companies ADY Express and Alliance Multimodal. The discussions focused on increasing cargo traffic between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, bringing new private operators into the CASCA+ corridor, and expanding cooperation along the China–Europe route.

On September 11, the delegation also visited one of Azerbaijan"s major logistics facilities, the Absheron Logistics Center.

The CASCA+ railway initiative was established by Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and Türkiye. The route connects Central Asia via the Caspian Sea and the South Caucasus to Anatolia in Türkiye. The first container block train on this route arrived in Baku at the end of 2022.
