Only multimodal mobility hubs can become a real driver of Baku's polycentric development, Huseyn Abdullayev, head of Strategic Planning at the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, potential must be concentrated around high-performance public transport, which should form the basis for the formation of new urban sub-centers.
According to the AYNA representative, Baku's Master Plan envisions the city's transformation into a polycentric metropolis.
"The new plan envisions transforming this territory into a polycentric agglomeration, which will ensure more balanced regional growth, new opportunities, and more equal access to urban services," he added.
