Anar Guliyev: For Azerbaijan, hosting WUF13 reflects national transformation agenda

For Azerbaijan, hosting the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) reflects its national transformation agenda, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and National Coordinator of WUF13, said at the forum's final press conference, Report informs.

According to him, the country is moving toward large-scale urban renewal, expanding green infrastructure, improving living conditions, and creating smarter and more inclusive communities.

"In the liberated territories, we are carrying out some of the most ambitious reconstruction projects in the world. As part of the state program Great Return, we are rebuilding cities and villages from scratch based on the principles of sustainability and human dignity. The foundations of 12 cities and over 300 villages have been laid. Master plans for nearly 110 settlements have been approved for the safe and dignified return of former internally displaced persons," Guliyev added.
