A new vessel is currently being built to ensure regular container transportation between Baku and Turkmenbashi ports, said Arif Aghayev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY).
Report quotes him as saying the vessel will be launched within the next three months.
Meanwhile, Eldar Salahov, Director General of Baku International Sea Port LLC, owned by ADY, stated that the next vessel being constructed for cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor will be named "Manzil".
He emphasized: "This is a significant event, a clear example of growing confidence in the Middle Corridor and the Eurasian transport route. Following the Gadamly vessel, the second ship (both with a carrying capacity of 240 TEU) is expected to be launched in the coming months, likely by late autumn 2026. Just a few days ago, the Port's team visited Turkmenbashi, where we attended the departure of the Gadamly vessel with the direct participation of the President of Turkmenistan, and today we welcomed it back."
