76% of internal road construction project in Kalbajar city completed

The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan has completed 76% of the internal road construction project in Kalbajar city, Report informs, citing the agency.

The project is being implemented according to the "First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories" based on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev.

The foundation of the city's first residential neighborhood was laid during the head of state's visit to the region on May 27, 2023.

Construction work is underway on an 18.9 km section in the first phase of the city's internal roads, which have a total length of 26.5 km. The roads are being built according to 4 different cross-sections. According to these cross-sections, the number of traffic lanes ranges from 2 to 4, the width of traffic lanes is 3-3.5 meters, the width of green strips is 1.5-3 meters, the width of bicycle lanes is 0.7-1.5 meters, and the width of pedestrian sidewalks is 2-4 meters. The width of the road bed varies between 12, 18, 24, and 30 meters.

Currently, the construction of communication lines along city streets in the first phase - water, sewage, rainwater, gas, communication, and electricity lines - is almost complete. For this purpose, pipes of various diameters and technical wells are being installed, and work on laying curbs and pavement stones is being carried out.

The project is scheduled to be fully completed in 2026.
