Baku to host WADA European Regional Symposium in March 2026

Azerbaijan will host the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) European Regional Symposium on March 18–19, 2026, Report informs.
The event, set to take place in Baku, will replace WADA's annual global symposium and form part of a series of regional meetings across four continents.
The Baku symposium will bring together anti-doping organizations from the European region, government officials, international sports bodies, athletes, and their representatives. Its primary focus will be to discuss regional challenges in implementing the new World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, which will come into effect in 2027.
Key topics will include updates to the Code and Standards, the obligations of national anti-doping organizations, and enhanced cooperation among stakeholders. The event will also feature real-world case presentations, interactive sessions, and discussions with athletes and government representatives. Additionally, issues such as education, capacity-building, and strengthening partnerships will be addressed.
The symposium is expected to serve as a vital platform for knowledge and experience exchange among regional countries. Held within the framework of the Code Implementation Support Program, the event will make a significant contribution to the future development of anti-doping efforts in the European region.
