Azerbaijan hosts its first national para swimming championship

Azerbaijan has hosted its first-ever national para swimming championship.
According to the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan, cited by Report, around 30 teenage and young para athletes competed in nine different categories at the championship, which was held at the Sumgayit Paralympic Sports Complex.
The event was attended by two-time Paralympic judo champion Ilham Zakiyev, Head of Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Aydin Mammadov, members of the National Paralympic Committee's leadership, representatives of partner organizations, and members of the sporting community.
Winners of the competition were awarded medals, certificates, and gifts.
