Prosecutors general of Azerbaijan, Slovakia ink MoU

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has met with his Slovak counterpart, Maroš Žilinka, in Baku to discuss expanding cooperation in extradition and legal assistance, Report informs referring to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The parties discussed the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries, the contribution of Slovak companies to restoration work in Karabakh, and the need to strengthen professional ties between prosecutorial authorities.

Kamran Aliyev briefed the guests on legal reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan, including the introduction of the Electronic Prosecutor's Information System (EPIS), which improves efficiency and accountability.

"The parties discussed expanding cooperation in extradition and legal assistance, sharing experiences, and working together in international and regional organizations," the statement read.

Maroš Žilinka noted the compliance of Azerbaijani reforms with the principles of international law and justice and praised the country's efforts to improve the legal system.

"The meeting focused on cooperation in the fight against corruption, knowledge sharing in combating crime, and developing activities within the framework of international law. Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding," the statement reads.

The Slovak delegation also visited the Museum of the History of the Prosecutor General's Office and viewed its exhibits.
