Azerbaijan tightens penalties for animal cruelty

Azerbaijan has tightened legislation against animal cruelty, Aynur Osmanova, head of the Legal Support and Human Rights Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, said during a live broadcast on the Prosecutor General's Office's social media page, Report informs.
She noted that animal cruelty, torture, and the organization of animal fights are covered by the new version of the Code of Administrative Offenses: "According to current legislation, penalties have been increased, and those committing such acts are subject to harsher penalties."
