Azerbaijan conducts DNA analysis over grave crime committed in Montenegro

A DNA investigation was carried out in Azerbaijan following a legal assistance request from Montenegro regarding a grave crime committed there, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan told Report.
The request was submitted by Montenegro's Supreme Prosecutor's Office through EUROJUST and concerned a criminal prosecution into an intentional homicide.
The request sought comparative DNA testing of samples taken from Rovshan Samadov (born 1970), suspected of committing the crime, and Sirudin Sharifov (born 2001), suspected of aiding in concealing it, as well as from their relatives, the crime scene, and other relevant objects.
During execution of the request, explanations were obtained from related individuals, biological samples were collected, DNA analysis was performed, and DNA profiles were established.
The resulting documents and expert materials were forwarded to Montenegro's competent authority in line with international legal cooperation procedures.
