Klaus Mueller: IoT not yet critical for business in Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, clients prioritize business development over the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, Bakcell CEO Klaus Mueller said during the panel discussion "Fintech, Telecommunications, and Banking – Exploring Synergies Between Industries" at the Fifth INMerge Innovation Summit organized by PASHA Holding.

"Therefore, IoT does not currently occupy a central place in Bakcell"s strategy," he said.

Mueller explained that, unlike in some other countries where IoT is actively integrated into key sectors, the segment is not yet critical for business in Azerbaijan.

"This does not mean we are not engaged with IoT. Of course, we are working on it. But compared to other countries, Azerbaijan is not at the forefront because IoT is not as important for other business areas as, for example, the standard mobile consumer business. We keep it on our radar. It"s not the main priority yet, but its time will come," Mueller added.
