China's digital statistics experience draws interest in Azerbaijan

China's experience in digitalizing statistical data is of growing interest in Azerbaijan, Councel of Chinese Census Center's Director-General Jie Zhang said at the 3rd International Statistics Forum held in Baku, Report informs.

She highlighted the increasing demand for advanced statistical services driven by the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years.

She noted that the growing volume of data not only creates new opportunities for organizing social and economic activities but also presents major challenges for statistical and analytical work.

"In response, the National Bureau of Statistics of China has strengthened the use of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence in statistical processes and is working toward creating a unified cloud-based platform," Zhang stated.

She added that this experience could be valuable for Azerbaijan as it advances its own digital transformation in statistics.

"The State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan is already developing programs focused on modern information technologies and is planning to explore China's experience to optimize data collection, processing, and dissemination in the near future," she said.
