Arctic to get high-speed internet

The Russian Ministry of Transport, the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, and Rosmorport have begun the construction of an underwater fiber-optic communication line along the Murmansk-Vladivostok route, Report informs, referring to RIA Novosti.
One of the lines will cover the largest ports and settlements in the Arctic. The agencies carry out the project under the strategy approved by President Vladimir Putin.
The goal is to develop port infrastructure along the North Sea and create a digital ecosystem in the region. The capacity of the fiber-optic communication line will be 52-104 terabits per second. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026.
