The number of oncology patients in Azerbaijan has increased to approximately 60,000, said MP Kamaladdin Gafarov, a member of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, Report informs.
According to him, up to 1,600 oncology patients currently receive treatment in inpatient conditions, and the number of those who seek medical assistance is also high.
The MP believes that there is a need to increase the volume of funds allocated from the state budget for the treatment of oncology patients:
"Either this disease should be included in compulsory health insurance, or a separate large budget should be allocated for it."
