The Ministry of Health has again called on the population to take a booster dose, Report informs.
Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the ministry, said that there are still no antiviral drugs against coronavirus.
He noted that medicines are provided in limited quantities:
"Today, the best way to fight COVID-19 worldwide is vaccination. A significant increase in protection after a booster dose has been confirmed by scientific studies. Therefore, many countries have recommended a third dose. Given these scientific studies and international experience, Azerbaijan also recommends a booster dose to its citizens. We assume that the last wave will be shorter. Individuals at risk should be vaccinated with a booster dose."
