The COVID-19 virus can cause specific changes in the human brain, Report informs, citing MedRxiv.
A study by Brazilian researchers suggests that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can affect the central nervous system's cells, causing changes in the cerebral cortex, leading to schizophrenia, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease.
According to the study's authors, such complications can occur even in people who carry coronavirus lightly.
Symptoms of COVID-19, such as headache, loss of sense of smell, and convulsions, are also said to be neurological.
