Mercedes CEO: Every little thing will matter on Baku track

Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff expects a close fight at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Report informs referring to F1News.ru.

Baku has a difficult track, which includes fast straights, 90-degree turns and a twisty section near the fortress - a good test for both the car and the driver.

"The fight is very close, so every little thing will be important. If we perform at full strength, we can count on fighting at the front this weekend," he noted.

Wolff added that he is counting on second place in the Constructors' Championship at the end of the season: "The European part of the season is over, and this weekend (in Baku) the final third of the championship begins. The stretch to the checkered flag in Abu Dhabi will be tense, as three teams are fighting for second place in the Constructors' Championship. In Monza (Italy), we lost and we know that in the remaining eight races, we must perform better than in Italy if we want to overtake our rivals."

In the Constructors' Championship of the current championship, Mercedes is in third place (260 points), behind McLaren (617 points) and Ferrari (280), but ahead of Red Bull (239).

In the personal standings, George Russell is in fourth place, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli is eighth. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on September 19-21.
