"We do not want anyone to present women and girls as a sacrifice. A few days ago, the UN Secretary-General said that women and girls should sit at the table," UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at a conference on the role of women in post-conflict reconstruction, as quoted by Report.
"The last two years have been difficult for the world, including Azerbaijan. We will most likely continue to live with COVID," she said.
Andreeva noted that after the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan began reconstruction work in the liberated areas.
She added that there are casualties even after the conflict ended.
Mine explosions and other incidents occur, Andreeva said.
