Sudan welcomes peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Sudan is pleased to see peace being established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieldin Salim Ahmed Ibrahim told Report.

The foreign minister said relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan have deep historical roots.

"We have had very good relations with Azerbaijan for many years. A few days ago, we participated in a high-level meeting in your country. It is encouraging to see Azerbaijan living in peace with its neighbors. We are very glad about the peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In general, Sudan always stands for peace. I believe wherever there is peace, it is of great importance to us. That is why we wish peace among all neighbors," he said.

The minister stressed that Azerbaijan has advanced expertise in many areas, and Sudan is eager to benefit from this experience:

"We want to develop relations with Azerbaijan broadly and across various sectors. Your country has advanced know-how and technology in agriculture, mining, oil, and other fields. We are interested in future cooperation in these areas," he noted.

Ibrahim also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for creating educational opportunities for Sudanese students:

"We are thankful to Azerbaijan for enabling many Sudanese students to study at your universities. They are now contributing to Sudan's development. As a young student, I studied in Moscow and visited Baku, where I attended the graduation of Sudanese students. Today, they are recognized figures in medicine, engineering, public administration, and other fields in Sudan. We are grateful to you and your country for this," the minister added.
