President: Türkiye continues working on Middle Corridor project

Türkiye continues to work on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR or Middle Corridor) project, which has strategic importance and extends from China to Europe.

As Report informs, this was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of reforming the world economy in accordance with modern challenges:

"Growing protectionist trends in international trade and disruptions in supply chains lead to fundamental changes in the global economy. To successfully combat current challenges, we support the reform of rules-based international trade involving the World Trade Organization. I consider access to cheap, safe, and sustainable energy a necessary condition for achieving development goals, especially in developing countries."

He added that thanks to modern transport infrastructure and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, Türkiye contributes to the development of world trade.

The Turkish leader also noted the importance of moving toward the concept of "zero waste": "We are resolutely moving toward the goal of zero emissions by 2053 on the path to creating a future with respect for nature."
