To expand social housing in Ukraine, it is necessary to conduct a systematic inventory of vacant buildings and develop models for their renovation, Knut Höller, board member of the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe, said at an event at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that many Ukrainian cities already have significant potential for such projects, including vacant childcare facilities and other infrastructure.
"One of the conclusions is the need for high-quality project documentation for other vacant spaces," he said.
He emphasized that the successful implementation of such initiatives requires coordination, transparent tenant selection procedures, and the involvement of local communities.
