Erdogan: Türkiye focuses on AI and digitalization in preparation for COP31

Türkiye is actively preparing to host the COP31 climate conference with a focus on the capabilities of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
According to Report's correspondent in Turkistan, the Turkish leader noted that the country is also carrying out a deep transformation of its agricultural sector aimed at making the most effective use of technological innovations to improve sustainability.
Erdogan also stated that Ankara has officially nominated former Turkish Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker for the post of Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization, with the election scheduled for July 2027.
"We expect your valuable support for Dr. Mehdi Eker as the single candidate from all Turkic states for this important post," he said.
In addition, the Turkish president announced that the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States is planned to be held in Ankara before the end of this year.
Concluding his speech, Erdogan thanked Azerbaijan, as the current chair of the organization, for its contribution to strengthening Turkic unity, and also expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for hosting the summit.
