Azerbaijani president notes importance of Russian language

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has noted the importance of the Russian language in relations with Russia, Report informs.
The Azerbaijani leader made the remark at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on February 2022.
Ilham Aliyev said that, in Azerbaijan, there are around 340 schools teaching in the Russian language, where 140,000 children study.
Many university students also study in the Russian language, the Azerbaijani leader said.
"So, this is the main basis of our relations," President Ilham Aliyev said, adding that without knowing the Russian language, the future generations would find it difficult to establish contacts.
Putin thanked Aliyev for supporting the Russian language in Azerbaijan.
