Azerbaijani FM receives EU Special Representative for South Caucasus

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Magdalena Grono, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Report informs, citing the ministry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues.

They also reviewed cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and the EU in the spheres of economy, trade, transport, energy security, green energy, humanitarian and other fields.

The sides expressed satisfaction with high-level contacts between them and highlighted the importance of continuing dialogue.

Special Representative Grono conveyed congratulations on the achievements in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process within the framework of the summit held during the Azerbaijani President's visit to the US. She stated that the EU is ready to support the peace process in various directions.

Foreign Minister Bayramov, in turn, informed the other side about the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit, the progress made on the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process, and the prospects.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
