The next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine intergovernmental commission will be held in Ukraine this fall.
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on X following his meeting with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Report informs.
"The agenda includes the development of ferry transportation, expansion of food trade, cooperation in education and science, and the joint development of innovation and technology," the statement said.
Shmyhal noted that the meeting discussed the implementation of agreements reached between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the field of energy.
The sides also reviewed prospects for developing routes for the transportation of energy resources, including to European Union countries using Ukrainian infrastructure.
According to the deputy prime minister, last year's trial supply of Azerbaijani gas to Ukraine confirmed the potential of the Trans-Balkan route for strengthening regional energy security.
"We also discussed the restoration and resilience of Ukraine's energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks. Azerbaijani businesses are ready to invest in Ukrainian projects. We are ready to provide them with comprehensive support," he said.
Shmyhal also thanked Azerbaijan for its support for the country's energy sector and for humanitarian aid.
"The equipment and humanitarian aid provided helped us get through the most difficult periods," he wrote.
