Azerbaijan, Serbia hold consular consultations

Azerbaijan and Serbia have held their third consular consultations in Belgrade, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The Azerbaijani delegation at the consultations was led by Emil Safarov, head of the Foreign Ministry's Consular Department, while the Serbian delegation was led by Nataša Rašević, acting assistant foreign minister for consular affairs.

During the consular consultations, the sides reviewed the current state of cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan in the consular sphere and prospects for its development, including the possibility of signing new bilateral documents in this area.

The sides also exchanged views on recent innovations in the consular field, including the existing experience and mechanisms applied by both countries in the digitalization of consular services. They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in this area and mutually apply best practices.

The importance of strengthening ties between the two countries in the fields of migration, justice, education, labor and social protection was also emphasized.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views and experience on ensuring effective consular protection for citizens in crisis situations and regulating labor migration.
