Azerbaijan, Egypt interparliamentary cooperation developing actively, minister says

Interparliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt continues to develop actively, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said at a reception celebrating Egypt's National Day, Report informs.

According to him, positive momentum is also observed in cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

Gayibov recalled that the speaker of the Egyptian Senate visited Azerbaijan in May last year, while a visit by the speaker of the Milli Majlis is expected in November this year.

"The parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries play a special role in strengthening bilateral ties," the minister said.

At the beginning of his speech, Gayibov also congratulated the Egyptian national team on its successful performance at the FIFA World Cup.

"I think not only I, but millions of people around the world, watched the Egyptian team's matches with pleasure. Judging by the numerous comments on social media, its performance was truly memorable," he said.
