Azerbaijan, Djibouti discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation

Azerbaijan"s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Mohammed Ali Hassani, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti.

According to Report, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation as well as engagement in multilateral formats. The wide-ranging opportunities for partnership in the fields of economy, trade, humanitarian efforts, and education were highlighted.

Special attention was given to cooperation within the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan"s chairmanship of the OIC over the next two years and the hosting of the organization"s summit in 2026 will open new opportunities for joint work.

The meeting also addressed the importance of the negotiations held in Washington in August and Azerbaijan"s role in advancing the peace process with Armenia.
