Azerbaijan and NATO discuss strengthening future partnership

Azerbaijan and NATO have discussed the development of the future partnership, Report informs.

The discussions took place during a meeting between the Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Tobias Lorentzson, the Slovak Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasimov, and Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.

According to a statement from the Swedish Embassy in Azerbaijan, regional issues were also addressed during the talks: "Many thanks to the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Hikmat Hajiyev, for a useful discussion on the further development of Azerbaijan's partnership with NATO and on the broader regional agenda.

During 2025-2026, the Embassies of Slovakia and Sweden in Baku fulfill the role as NATO Contact Point Embassies in Azerbaijan."
