"I want to say I will not give up," Christian Eriksen, who collapsed on the second matchday of Euro 2020 towards the end of the first half of the match between Denmark and Finland, said in a statement to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 29-year-old midfielder said he felt better: "But I want to understand what happened to me. Thank everyone for what they have done for me."
The Inter Milan midfielder suddenly fell to the ground near the end of the first half during his side's clash with Finland at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
Eriksen - a former Tottenham player - was given CPR by frantic medics who sprinted onto the pitch as his sobbing teammates watched on shortly after 6 pm. He received 13 minutes of medical treatment.
