Samir Mammadov: Azerbaijan trains new generation of ICT leaders

Azerbaijan aims to train specialists who can compete globally and manage the country's ICT exports, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov, Report informs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals held in Baku, Mammadov noted that in order to turn this vision into reality, the country is closely cooperating with globally recognized partners: "We have launched programs that combine international experience with local ambitions, forming a new generation of ICT leaders."

He also pointed out that digital initiatives in Azerbaijan are aimed at empowering local IT talents and providing high-quality services and products for international markets: "Azerbaijan has declared digital transformation a national priority. Our vision consists of nurturing talents, strengthening advanced skills, and building an innovative, secure, and globally competitive digital ecosystem. Today, young people in our country have expanded opportunities in programming, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and many other advanced fields. This vision is guided by our main national frameworks, digital development concept, national strategy for information security and cybersecurity, and national strategy for artificial intelligence."

The Deputy Minister stated that in 2025, for the first time, two Azerbaijani teams - ADA University and Baku Higher Oil School teams - will represent the country in the world finals of the 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest.
