Pound sterling gains against dollar ahead of UK unemployment data

The pound sterling rose to $1.3618 against the dollar ahead of the UK unemployment data release, up from the previous close of $1.3606, Report informs referring to trading data.
At the same time, the euro to dollar rose to $1.1778 from the previous close of $1.1761 per euro, while the dollar to yen fell to 147.01 yen from the previous close of 147.4 yen per dollar.
And the dollar index (the exchange rate against a basket of currencies of six US trading partners) fell by 0.14% to 97.22 points.
Later on Tuesday, the Office of National Statistics will release unemployment data in the country. The indicator is expected to remain at the April-June level of 4.7% in May-July.
On the same day, the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) will publish industrial production figures for August. Analysts expect the figure to fall 0.1% from the previous month.
