Minister: Wage fund in Azerbaijan's non‑oil private sector triples

Over the past seven years, the wage fund in Azerbaijan's non‑oil private sector has tripled, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at the first reading of the draft law on the State Budget for 2026 at today's plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis, Report informs.

Jabbarov mentioned that in recent years, the growth of non‑oil and gas budget revenues, including tax collections, has not been achieved through higher tax rates but rather through expanded tax bases resulting from greater transparency and strengthened quality administration.

"As a result, the tax base in the economy, particularly in the non‑oil sector, has expanded, budget revenues and expenditures have increased, and household incomes and corporate investments have risen significantly. Taking into account the forecasts for 2025, the wage fund – the main source of household income – in the non‑oil private sector tripled between 2019 and 2025," Jabbarov emphasized.
