Life insurance payouts in Azerbaijan up over 40%

In January–May of 2026, life insurance premiums in Azerbaijan reached almost 450.5 million manats (just under $265 million), representing a 7.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
During the reporting period, payouts under life insurance rose by 40.3%, exceeding 288.1 million manats (approximately $169.5 million).
Thus, for every 100 manats ($58.82) collected in life insurance premiums over five months, 64 manats ($37.65) were paid out to clients. A year earlier, this figure stood at 49.2 manats ($28.94).
