EBRD updates investment portfolio in Azerbaijan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested 3.318 billion euros in 180 projects in Azerbaijan so far, Report informs, citing the EBRD.

According to the indicators disclosed by the bank in January, the number of projects increased by two and the amount of the investments 13 billion euros.

The share of the private sector in the EBRD's investment portfolio is 12%.

The EBRD currently has 34 active projects in Azerbaijan. The portfolio of these projects is 805 million euros (+4 million euros). Of this, 88.3% or 711 million euros (+2 million euros) fell to the share of infrastructure projects, 8.7% or 70 million euros (+3 million euros) to the share of industry, trade, and agribusiness, and 3% or 24 million euros (+4 million euros) to the share of financial institutions.

The EBRD's investment in Azerbaijan amounted to 1% of the bank's total portfolio.

The number of projects financed by the EBRD in Azerbaijan has increased again and neared the 2015-2017 figures (9 projects per year).
