Committee chair: Baku-hosted statistics forum gained global status

The 3rd International Statistics Forum, held in Baku under the theme "Prospects for the Development of Statistics: The Role of International Projects," has officially gained global status, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee (SSC), Tahir Budagov, said at the event, Report informs.

"This forum no longer covers only CIS countries. Representatives from numerous Asian and European nations participated. Although online participation was planned from South Africa and Latin America, it didn't materialize - still, this shows the forum's growing scope and international relevance," Budagov said.

He suggested removing the CIS abbreviation from the forum's title, emphasizing that it will now be held as a broader international forum under the auspices of the SSC, with expectations of growing participation from more countries each year.
