CBA governor: Comprehensive reforms strengthen Azerbaijani economy

Comprehensive reforms carried out in Azerbaijan are strengthening the national economy and further improving the socio‑economic well‑being of the population, Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said during the first reading of the draft law on the State Budget for 2026 at today's plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis, Report informs.

"The year 2025, marked as the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty, holds a special place in Azerbaijan's history of independence. With great pride, I can say that 2025 has been a successful year for our people and our state. In the fifth year after our glorious victory, under the farsighted and decisive leadership of Commander‑in‑Chief Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues to write new, bright pages in world history.

The peace agreement signed by our esteemed President in the United States this year has enhanced Azerbaijan's international reputation and strengthened its position as a strategic partner. This agreement has also made significant contributions to regional stability and cooperation.

The Great Return program has been successfully implemented this year, with major infrastructure projects continuing in Karabakh and East Zangazur. Within this program, thousands of families have returned to their native lands, where modern socio‑economic infrastructure has been established.

Over the past five years, we have witnessed the rapid integration of these territories into the economic system. Today, the cities of Shusha and Khankandi host major global and regional events, becoming centers of modern science and culture. As a result, Azerbaijan's economy continues its stable, sustainable, and inclusive development," Kazimov emphasized.
