Azerbaijan withdraws AZN 2B banknotes from circulation

In 2020, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) withdrew 492,000,000 banknotes worth AZN 12.5 billion from circulation, issued 556 million banknotes worth AZN 13.9 billion into circulation, Report informs, referring to the CBA.
The cash in circulation, in the reporting period, increased by 13.8% (64 million banknotes worth AZN 1.4 billion) to AZN 11.8 billion.
AZN 8.8 billion, withdrawn from the circulation, was reissued after being processed in automatized systems, while AZN 2 billion was withdrawn from the circulation.
Moreover, banknotes worth AZN 5.4 billion were exchanged with new ones.
