Oil transit via BTC increases by 36%

In January-August this year, Azerbaijan's main pipelines transported 24,057,300 tons of oil, up 3.18% from the same period last year.
Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee that within eight months, 79% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline.
During the reporting month, 19,200,700 tons of oil were transported through the BTC, 9% more than in the eight months of 2021.
At the same time, 3,120,700 tons of transit oil were transported via the BTC pipeline, which is 36.1% more than in the eight months of 2021.
The BTC pipeline currently pumps oil mainly from Azerbaijan's Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
Shareholders of BTC Co include BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%); INPEX (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
