Reducing emissions in the oil and gas sector and applying new technologies are impossible without close cooperation between operators, technology providers and service companies.
Report informs that Hikmat Abdullayev, Deputy Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said this during panel discussions held at the Baku Expo Center as part of the 31st Caspian Oil and Gas International Exhibition in Baku.
According to him, if any one of these three elements is left out of the process, it becomes difficult to successfully implement projects.
"Technology companies have access to the latest scientific achievements and innovative solutions. Service companies have experience in applying and operating these technologies. Operators, in turn, provide information on asset characteristics and operational data. If one of these elements is missing, the system cannot function effectively," the SOCAR official said.
Abdullayev added that since technologies are developing rapidly, constant dialogue and information exchange between companies are essential.
"Technology changes every year, or even every six months. Since operators are engaged in their day-to-day activities, they sometimes find it difficult to keep track of innovations taking place in the industry. Therefore, it is important for communication channels between all parties to remain constantly open. It is also important for technology developers to have a deep understanding of the nature of the problems and the characteristics of specific assets. This makes it possible to develop tailored solutions for specific projects. Cooperation is the main driving force of this process. Without it, it is impossible to move forward," he said.
