John Etgen: Investments in seismic, geophysics critical for BP

Business growth and performance directly depend on companies' ability to implement new technologies and harness their potential, John T. Etgen, BP's seismic advisor, said at the Fifth INMerge Innovation Summit, organized by PASHA Holding, Report informs.

He stated that the skills and methods emerging from the modern digital economy are being successfully applied in the energy business, opening up new opportunities for companies.

"For BP, striving to be a technology leader is especially important, particularly in areas related to resource management and field development. Investments in seismic exploration and geophysics, engineering understanding of fields, and deep geological knowledge are long-term and critical," noted John Etgen.

He emphasized that in a context of rapid change, it is the implementation of innovative tools that allows the company to improve operational efficiency and reduce risks.

"Technology opens up new opportunities for us to understand fields more deeply, manage processes more accurately, and create greater value for business and society," the BP spokesman added.
