Georgia increases electricity imports from Azerbaijan

From January through June 2021, Georgia imported 505 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Azerbaijan, Report informs with reference to the Georgian Electricity Market Operator (ESCO).
According to ESCO, this amount is 21.4% more than in the same period last year.
Georgia imported 1,706.1 million kilowatt-hours in 1H2021, of which 29.6% fell to Azerbaijan’s share.
During the reporting period, Georgia supplied 1,039.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Russia and 48.2 million kilowatt-hours from Turkey.
