Eni welcomes cooperation with SOCAR worldwide, says Luca Vignati

Italian energy company Eni has welcomed the expansion of its cooperation with Azerbaijan's SOCAR beyond national borders, including projects in Africa, Eni Director for Exploration and Production Luca Vignati said at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, according to Report.

He noted that Eni and SOCAR are successfully cooperating not only in Azerbaijan but also in Côte d'Ivoire, where SOCAR has joined one of the company's major assets - the Baleine field.

"Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of development are currently being actively implemented there. We welcome the expansion of cooperation with SOCAR worldwide, as it is part of our diversification strategy," Vignati said.

He also emphasized Eni's focus on energy diversification and security of supply.

"Eni and Italy do not possess large domestic resources, and we are obliged to ensure energy security for our country and, I would say, for our continent as a whole. Our priority is the energy security of the host country, and only then our own," he added.
