BP continues to evaluate solar power plant construction project in Karabakh

BP is discussing with the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry a project to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 240 MW in the liberated territories, in the Zangilan-Jabrayil zone, said BP Vice President for the Caspian region, Communications and Advocacy Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Report informs.
The project evaluation should include, among other things, the choice of the solar power plant’s location, the number of required solar panels, their prices and their installation, as well as other commercial terms.
“The final investment decision will be made after this assessment,” Aslanbayli said.
He noted that now the cost of solar panels in the world has grown, which also changes the economic conditions of the project, its profitability.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry and BP signed a cooperation agreement to assess the possibilities of building a 240 MW solar power plant in the liberated territories in Karabakh.
