Azerbaijan sees 6% growth in solar power production

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to AZN 727.8 million in January-April 2020, up 14% from 2019, Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee.
Production in water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 2.5%, settling at AZN 99.9 million.
Azerbaijan produced 8.6 billion kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 4.7% from the previous year.
Of this, 334.1 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, down 25.6% by contrast to a year ago.
Heating power stations produced 8 billion kWh of energy, 7% more than in 2019.
Wind power production fell 17% to 33.6 million kWh, solar power production went up by 6.1% to 12.9 million kWh.
