Azerbaijan's oil imports drop 36.8% in value in H12025

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 727,662.28 tons of oil worth $350.85 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the same period in 2024, oil imports decreased by 36.8% in value and 25.9% in volume.
The majority of the oil—94.2%—was imported from Russia. During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 685,728.31 tons of oil from Russia, worth $328.15 million, marking a 31.3% decline in value and a 19.8% drop in volume.
Additionally, Azerbaijan imported 41,792.43 tons of oil from Kazakhstan, valued at $22.65 million—a 0.8% decrease in value but a 20.8% increase in volume. The country also imported 141.54 tons of oil from Iraq worth $52,370. No oil had been imported from Iraq in the first half of 2024.
For the full year of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1.869 million tons of oil worth $1.02 billion, reflecting a 2.5% increase in volume and a 5.3% rise in value compared to the previous year.
