Azerbaijan releases data on 2-month oil production from Absheron field

Absheron Field, the second-largest gas-condensate field in the Caspian Sea after Shah Deniz, produced 96,000 tons of condensate in the first two months of 2024, Report informs, citing the operative data of the Ministry of Energy.
In total, Azerbaijan produced 4.8 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January–February 2024, showing a decrease of 0.3 million tons, or 5.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2023.
Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli made up 2.7 million tons of Azerbaijan’s overall oil production for the reporting period, which is a decrease of 0.4 million tons, or 12.9 percent, compared with the indicator of 2023.
Meanwhile, Shah Deniz Field produced 0.7 million tons of condensate in January–February 2024. There was no change recorded compared to the previous period.
SOCAR's oil output (including condensate) stood at 1.3 million tons in the specified period. The production was the same as in the previous period.
Production from the Absheron field started in July last year.
