ASCO, World Bank discuss ship, logistics support for offshore wind projects

The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), one of the companies within AZCON Holding, and the World Bank have engaged in discussions on ship and logistics support for offshore wind energy projects, Report informs, citing ASCO.

The talks took place during a meeting between ASCO representatives and a delegation of experts from the World Bank.

A representative of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA) under the Ministry of Energy also attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on the maritime service requirements expected to arise during the implementation of offshore wind energy projects planned in the Caspian Sea.

Particular attention was given to the capabilities of ASCO's specialized fleet, the types of vessels that could be deployed at different stages of the projects, as well as the logistical support required for offshore construction and installation activities.

The participants also exchanged views on other potential areas of mutual cooperation.

Following the meeting, the guests visited the "Across Three Centuries" museum, where they explored exhibits and archival materials showcasing the history and development of maritime transport in Azerbaijan.
