A magnetic storm is expected from September 29 to October 1, the Department of Astrophysics of Baku State University (BSU) told Report.
During the last three days, despite the low solar activity, some active parts on the surface of the Sun have broken up, and C-class flares, which cannot practically affect the Earth, and M-class flares, which are weakly effective and can disrupt radio wave propagation, causing radiation and magnetic storms, have been observed.
The index showing the strength of the magnetic storm will increase from 2 to 6 in a 9-point system.
